What course do I need to complete to start working in the real estate industry?

To work in the real estate industry in Queensland, you must as a minimum complete one of the following courses:

Registration Certificate Course – successful completion of this course gives you the educational requirements to apply to the Queensland Office of Fair Trading to be registered as a salesperson. A Registration Certificate only permits you to work as an employee in a real estate agency.

Real Estate Agent Licence Course (includes the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice qualification) – successful completion of this course gives you the educational requirements to apply to the Queensland Office of Fair Trading to be licenced as a Real Estate Agent. A Real Estate Agent licence allows you to own or manage a real estate agency or work as an independent contractor to an agency. In addition to doing all the things a Registered Salesperson is authorised to do, a licensed Real Estate Agent can also operate and manage trust accounts.

Auctioneer Licence Course – is a course that enables you to become an auctioneer. Auctions have become a very popular way to market properties. This course will give you skills and Units of Competency to be able to conduct and sell real estate property by auction.

What is the difference between a Registration Certificate and a Real Estate Agent Licence?

A Registration Certificate will only allow you to work as an employee of a licenced Real Estate Agent. Students who choose this course are often entering the real etstate industry for the first time and want to work in an agency to to learn from experienced real estate agents.

A Real Estate Agent Licence (includes the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice qualification) will allow you to own or start your own real estate agency, or work as an independent contractor to a real estate agency. Students who choose this course are often wanting to start their own agency, or be a contractor to an existing agency, or are simply wanting to have a higher level of training to stand out from their peers.

How long does it take to complete a course?

The great thing about doing your real estate course QLD with Validum Institute is that you are able to complete the course at your own pace, in your own time, and according to your schedule. Please note the following course durations:

Registration Certificate Course – you have 6 months starting from the day we send you your log in details.
Real Estate Agent Licence Course (includes the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice qualification) – you have 12 months starting from the day we send you your log in details.
Upgrade Courses – you have 6 months starting from the day we send you your log in details.
Auctioneer Licence Course – you have 6 months starting from the day we send you your log in details.

You must submit all your Assessments 14 days before your Course Expiry Date to allow for marking and any resubmissions.

Unless prior arrangements have been made with Validum, we will not accept any assessments submitted after 14 days prior to your Course Expiry Date.

Our courses are self-paced, which means that it may not necessarily take you that long to complete your course. The length of time it takes you to complete your course depends on various factors, such as your experience and the amount of time you have available for self-paced study.

The Units of Competency (Units) in our current courses are from the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice qualification.

What do I do after I complete my course?

After you complete your course and receive your Statement of Attainment, simply go to the Queensland Office of Fair Trading Queensland website and complete your Registration or Licence Application and pay your application fee. You will need to include a copy of your Statement of Attainment with your application.

What is a Student Lounge?

The Validum Student Lounge is a dedicated space you can come for peace and quiet and study for your course. The student lounge is located at the Institute at Brisbane Markets Precinct, Level 1, Fresh Centre Building, 385 Sherwood Road, ROCKLEA QLD 4106, just a 15 minute drive from Brisbane CBD, 31 minute away from Ipswich and about an hour away from Gold Coast.

The lounge offers a comfortable space with natural light and free parking, WIFI, computer use, tea/coffee facilities.

While in the Student Lounge, you also have access to our onsite trainers and assessors for one-on-one tuition and assistance.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the limited number of study spaces available in the Student Lounge, you will need to book your Student Lounge visit in advance by calling us on 1800 848 911 or 07 3193 5270 (Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5:00 pm).

Real Estate is an ever expanding field. Getting into the field is very easy but bits and pieces attached to it are very important. One of those important component is 'relevant education in the field' and the 'course provider'. The team at Validum definitely make it fun to learn! Victor was super helpful and nothing is a problem for him. I was enrolled in the self-pace online method because I thought I can do it after hours. After 3 weeks into the course, I was finding it hard to knock it off so I decided to switch it to 1:1 face-to-face session to complete the rest of the clusters. It was the best decision I’ve ever made. The private 1:1 session was interactive, helpful and it allowed me to ask any questions. Abraham was my mentor, he not only helped me to complete the course he gave me valuable advice on how to be best agent and communicate like a pro.Thanks guys for an enjoyable learning experience. To be honest it was worth every dollar I paid for the online course.I was expecting to get this certificate done as soon as possible to jump in to the field and thanks to the quick assement and process, I managed to receive the Certificate of Registration in less than a week.There is no single reason to not go ahead with Validum since it has all the information and prompt feedback/assessment system, most importantly their website was easy to use as if a 6 year old can utilize it.The questions/tasks were very straight forward and the information that I had to find in regards to the all the questions were key important.I give much appreciation to my assessor and the Validum team for all the prompt support.Wish you all a continous great success!

From the start the team at Validum, Sarah, Michael, Trent and Wei-Loong, have been a great source of direction and support and help.Over all, the entire course wasn’t that hard with detailed notes, however there were a few things I didn’t like.A large number of links were not working or functioning, which made it a bit harder to get concepts of standards and expectations , but the team were very understanding and helped whenever I asked.I found recording role play exceptionally difficult, but it made me come out of my comfort zone and grow. Oh my goodness, thank you for so much support!I was in a sling from recent surgery and could not drive to get others to help with the questions that needed another person to do the videos.Trent you are a God-send in helping me with those questions to complete in my recent Real Estate course with Validum. I had contacted Validum and Trent assured me we could make an appointment because of my special circumstances. I had written absolute pages using word talk to text which I then printed out. Trent was on time in calling me and we did the Mr Strik interview which I wasn't confident in getting right but I actually did. Trent boosted my confidence from there. To anyone looking to earn their Real Estate License or Sales Registration Certificate I definitely recommend Validum Institute. It was recommended to me after I’d already completed a REIQ course and I found Validum better. Very thorough course, easy to follow and I enjoyed doing both the sales and Full License course. I recently completed Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice. Validum delivers the best value for money. The course and subject material were structured perfectly in different formats, PDF, Online material and audio which helped me to listen and use my time more efficiently while driving and doing other things and listening to the subjects. I easily understood the concept and requirements and successfully completed a very challenging course. I am a family man, a father of three and work full time. This course was very time-consuming and challenging, but Validum staff and educators made it possible by providing timely support and feedback. I did the course very part-time and online and it took me the full year to complete as it wasn't a priority. What I like about their online portal is that you can access any of the modules and complete them in your own time. I'm the kind of person if I get stuck or don't like a question I'll move on and come back to it later - I never had any issues with my answers and uploads saving, which is good as some of my work was done early in the year and submitted much later. You wouldn't want your hard work to suddenly vanish due to IT issues on the providers end - Validum's portal is solid. They provide plenty of practical videos to help with roleplays, example RE forms and extensive learner notes which make everything smooth. Their support team gets back to you quickly. Overall very happy with my experience with Validum Institute.
