Real Estate Agent Licence Course for experienced agents


If you are currently working in the real estate agency, and you are looking to own or manage a real estate agency, you need to hold a Real Estate Agent Licence. If you wish to sell real estate as an independent contractor without working through an established agency, you will also need to hold a Real Estate Agent Licence.

Our Real Estate Agent Licenses course for experienced agents provides you with the additional educational qualifications you may need before you can apply to the Office of Fair Trading to be licenced as a real estate agent.

Having a Real Estate Agent Licence allows you to own and manage a real estate agency, and act as principal licensee. A Real Estate Agent Licence also allows you to work as an independent contractor and contract your services to an established agency.

After you successfully complete your Real Estate Agent Licence course, Validum Institute will issue you with a Statement of Attainment for the Units of Competency you have completed. You will need this Statement of Attainment before you can apply to the Office of Fair Trading for your Real Estate Agent Licence.

It is expected that you will have a Registration Certificate, experience in a business environment, or experience in real estate or a related profession (such as finance or property development).  You will already have a basic understanding and knowledge of real estate.  If you can supply evidence that you have the skill and/or knowledge of the requirements for a Unit of Competency in your real estate course, Validum Institute’s RPL assessment process may be able to provide credit for that Unit of Competency, even if you have not completed our training for the Unit of Competency.

Successfully completing the RPL assessment process could reduce the time you need to spend studying and/or the number of Units of Competency you need to formally undertake to complete your course.  This could, in turn, translate into a time saving for you.

The number of assessments you have to complete will depend on your RPL assessment outcome. All our assessments are open book, and feature a combination of theory and practical questions.  You have 12 months from when you first start the course to complete and submit all assessments.

Wei-Loong Chen
Wei-Loong has more than 17 years’ experience as a lawyer. He was a Special Counsel in Clayton Utz's National Governance and Compliance Division and Banking and Financial Services group . He is experienced in developing and implementing governance, risk and compliance frameworks for private and public sector organisations , focusing on property, banking and financial services, competition and consumer legislation, privacy law, anti-money laundering/counter-terrorism legislation, and retail credit law.
Paula Irvine
Paula has been a licensed real estate agent and trainer for over 27 years. She spent the majority of her time in real estate as a Property Manager and worked in her husband's real estate agency, assisting in all capacities from reception to relieving sales manager. She has worked as the State Training Manager, for REINSW General Manager of Real Estate at Kaplan Professional and Head of Business Faculty at Open Colleges. She has been involved in the development of the real estate training packages since their inception in the 90's and holds both a degree in Adult Education and VET qualifications. Paula is now returning to her first two loves - real estate and training and is excited about joining the team at Validum.
Victor James
Victor has years of dedicated property and managerial experience, combined with more than 18 years’ experience in the training/education fields. Victor is a property developer and fully licensed agent and is combining his passions of property and coaching, mentoring and training and was the founding partner of the Validum Group.
